Above Neumarkt in the plain of South Tyrol lies the small village of Mazzon. Framed by a magnificent cultural landscape, old farmhouses and residences and the woods of the Trodena Horn nature park, this region is known as one of the best locations of Pinot Noir Italy far beyond the borders of the country. From time immemorial, this terrace to the east of the Etschufers is also called the "Pinot Noir" of Italy. From the mid-19th century, mainly to Pinot Noir was cultivated in Mazzon due to conditions such as climate and soil conditions. It was soon recognized that there was a similar basis for the cultivation of Pinot Noir, which is very close to his house, Burgundy. The winery was founded in 1986 by Bruno Gottardi (wine merchant) who bought 6 hectares of Pinot Nero vineyard in Mazzon. After having dedicated himself to the arrangement of the vines and to the construction of the cellar, he created the first bottle of wine dated 1995. Today the winery is run by Alexander Gottardi who tries to constantly raise the quality level of the wines produced.
