The passion, courage and confidence in the enormous qualitative potential of Puglia are the elements that led Antinori to invest in this region, particularly in the areas of Castel del Monte and Salento. The basic idea on which the production philosophy of Tormaresca is based is to produce great wines from native Apulian vines. Most of the vineyards are cultivated with traditional grapes, some of which date back to the Magna Graecia civilization, and strongly rooted in the territory: the Primitivo, the Negroamaro, the Fiano Pugliese, the Aglianico, the Nero di Troia and the Moscato Reale
The Tormaresca company consists of two estates located in the most suitable areas for the winemaking tradition of the region: Tenuta Bocca di Lupo in the Castel del Monte DOC, immersed in the wild Bari murgia and Masseria Maime in the Salento area, the pulsating heart of Puglia.
The estate of Bocca di Lupo rises in the countryside of Minervino Murge, in the DOC Castel del Monte area, about 250 m above sea level. The proximity of the ancient volcano Vulture, the climate characterized by a notable thermal excursion between day and night and the composition of the soils have a considerable influence on the vineyards. The varieties present are Aglianico, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Fiano Pugliese, Nero di Troia and Moscato Reale. Masseria Maime rises in one of the most beautiful areas of the high Salento. The company, which covers an area of about 500 hectares of which 350 are planted with vines and 85 with olive groves, develops along the Adriatic coast, thus creating a unique landscape of vineyards that are born between woods and pine forests and are lost on sight eye up to blend in with the sea
