Well over a century of experience, an interpretation of traditional taste in a contemporary key, the careful selection of raw materials and suppliers, are the cornerstones of the success of the Jannamico Michele & Figli S.p.A. now established in Lanciano since 1946. At the fourth generation of liquorists the heirs of Francesco Jannamico proudly remember that great-grandfather of modern thought and appearance, which in the second half of the nineteenth century gave life to one of the first Abruzzo liquorifici in Villa Santa Maria, the homeland of the cooks, located in the lower valley of the Sangro and first headquarters of the company in 1888. Francesco imported rum from the Caribbean and the Antilles and at the same time gave life, based on study and research, to an illuminated art, in a reality economic far removed from the contemporary one, made mostly of recipes and teachings handed down orally within the family nucleus. Although working in the small reality of Villa Santa Maria the horizons of Francis were so wide as to make him undertake long journeys to make known his products even in distant countries. So it was that Jannamico in Europe became synonymous with "Punch Abruzzese". Today, as in the past, the delicious products of the distillery are the result of a balanced combination of respect for tradition and attention to the possibilities for improvement offered by new technologies. Selected herbs, roots and fruits are processed in the factory from the first stage of production, so as to ensure control over the finished product and an excellent range of aromas and flavors that are appreciated by the lover of much of the globe.
