FATTORIA LA STRISCIA
The Fattoria La Striscia, owned by the Occhini family since the 18th century, stands on the hills of Arezzo just 900 meters from the old fortified walls of the city and covers an area of 14 hectares of vineyards facing south and enrolled in the DOCG Chianti. The winery whose ancient origins are documented by the registration in the Register of Companies since 1850, has always operated in full respect of the territory achieving in 2013 the organic certification.
Thanks to the passion and dedication of the property, since 2001 the company has undergone a phase of renewal that, through the complete replanting of all the vineyards and the adaptation of the old cellar, has allowed the creation of great wines elegance, pleasantness and typicality. The "spurred cordon" breeding system and the applied cultivation techniques make it possible to achieve quality viticulture, limiting yields by first winter pruning and green management and thinning out the bunches later. The vinification is carried out with perfectly ripe grapes in vitrified cement tanks, by spontaneous fermentation. The malolactic fermentation takes place naturally in barriques, where the wine ages for about 12 months before bottling.
