BIONDI SANTI - TENUTA GREPPO
The authorship of Brunello di Montalcino can in all respects be attributed to Ferruccio Biondi Santi who at the end of 1800 selected a clone of Sangiovese (Sangiovese Grosso) particularly suited in its territory for the production of important and long-lived wines. In the Greppo estate the vineyard area extends for about 20 hectares located at 500 meters above sea level south-east of the municipality of Montalcino. The wine produced by Biondi Santi had its affirmation in international markets thanks to Tancredi son of Ferruccio, who laid the foundations for the disciplinary future. Today the wines of Tenuta Greppo are produced and followed by Franco Biondi Santi who exports his wine all over the world with an annual production of about seventy thousand bottles
